Eventually the lantern archon comes back. "I've got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the way to the Science Wing - where I presume Maug is - is heavily guarded. The good news is that I was able to swipe a card key from a high-ranking official, and it should allow us to get the maps that appear on the big monitors."
"Good work, Hiiruf. Okay, guys, let's get moving." The illusion disappears, and Machaeus sidles along the wall to a window. "This where we enter?" he asks.
"Yep."
"Everyone ready?"

Machaeus opens the window, then sidles over to the monitor nearby. He plugs in the card key, looks a bit, nods, and prints the map. He then pulls out the card, and heads in the opposite direction of the lab. "This way," he explains, "Is to the power conduit and the fuse box. Make things even easier." He grins as he says this, and you notice his canines are just a touch longer and sharper than those of a normal human. His gums are also red (though not swollen) as compared to the healthy pink of a normal human.

"And that's the second half of the 'power-out' strategy. The first half is that they won't be able to see a thing." He pulls out two pairs of night-vision goggles. "But we will. And before you ask, I can see perfectly well in pitch-blackness. Tiefling and all."

They run for about five minutes, then come across a guarded room. There are two huge men here, each one gorrila-shaped. "Alright, Hiiruf and I'll take the one on the left. You guys take the one on the right." Mach focuses, waves his hands intently, and shouts, "Aushkuel Binse!" A bolt of black energy shoots from his fingertips, striking the ape of a man.
"Xitu Komanto!" shouts Hiiruf, and a ray of searing light originating from the light mote blasts the same foe.

"Whoo. Remind me not to make you angry, Champ," Machaeus grins. He slides forward, slips in the key, and a sign above him reads, (Access Pending). After a minute, it shines, (Access Approved). The door opens, and Mach and Hiiruf fly to the controls. Soon the power is shut down, and the entire facility is plunged into darkness. Mach then slashes the control's wires, and says, "THAT'LL keep 'em busy."
