Episode 1 - Defend Tremorton!

Samantha loses her Balance instantly and falls over. "Oww.. Not again.." she groans, as she slowly stands up to see the Irreg Tank.

"They just keep Coming and coming, don't they.." she says, as she activates her Laser Canons & her Jets.

Champ:That's the impression I'm getting

[Machaeus]

"Faust," Machaues begins, "Made a pact with 'the' (air quotes) devil, and eventually won his soul back, if Wikipedia's right. That's one. Two, devils and demons are seperate species of evil outsiders - spirits, if you like - that are at WAR with each other. Three - " He barely dodges a cannon shot from the ShellMech. "Three," he tries again as the dust is still in the air, "If you recall, I'm part demon, so even though I DON'T embrace that heritage, that's technically an insult. Fourth, yes, it's tiring, but your magic pool is like a muscle. The more you use it, the easier it is to - "
Another explosion rocks the land. "I'm TRYING to EXPLAIN STUFF HERE, D@MMIT!" he shouts, blasting the ShellMech. It puts up a barrier that blocks the blast, but the barrier shatters after the blast finishes.

[Hunter]

Gene guffaws. "Keep your robe on, mage. The upshot of the Faust story is the man's insatiable desire for knowledge. He sells his soul in exchange for an education in the arcane, the occult, the forbidden lore available only (in the Christian tradition, at least) via the Devil and his running crew. Magic, in other words." The Mech hunches its back and launches a volley of missiles from its shoulder blades. "Whoa!" Gene fires a series of heat blasts at the missiles, detonating them before they've even turned to face the party.

"And doesn't that describe you to a tee? Would you not do anything -- short of selling your soul, I guess; that's a bit extreme -- to advance your understanding of... whatever this crap is you do?" The Mech picks up a fallen irreg's body and tosses it at the party. "What the -- !" Gene jumps up and intercepts the metallic corpse, stopping it with his super-powered body then tossing it away.

"After all, you and I, we're not so different. I still say you're putting yourself at unnecessary risk with this magic stuff. And if you knew more about my research, you'd probably consider it an affront to, well, any spirituality worth having. But in the end, we're driven by the same thing: a relentless drive for knowledge. An inexorable demand for understanding, be it of the physical..." The Mech points a laser gun at Gene. Mach summons a small force field in front of the weapon's muzzle, corking it. The Mech, frustrated, throws the gun away. "Or the metaphysical. Thanks, by the way."

Champ:Less explaining, more fighting*He swings the mana sword and a crescent moon shaped blast erupts from it, he grins*
Ruri:If I was Ichigo, I would sue you
Champ:It's not EXACTLY Getsuga Tenshou
Ruri:It's close enough

[Machaeus]

"I know what I need to know to work my spells, no more, no less. If I find an interesting formula or I want to learn how to cast a specific spell that I see, I study it. This is why divination spells come in handy, though I'm far from an expert at those things. I'm not driven by an insatiable appetite for the arcane - I'm driven by a single spell that catches my eye, if it does. And, as I said, there are many devils, run by nine archdevils, not one. One for each layer is more appropriate." Mach is caught off guard in this tirade, and ends up taking a laser shot to his left shoulder. He grimaces at the wound and shoots a ray of sunlight at the ShellMech, melting part of its chassis.

[Hunter]

"Get off it, man; the actual nature of Hell isn't my point. The stories are set in a Christian worldview, which, alas, describes only one top dog in the inferno. You don't like it, complain to the ghosts of Marlowe and Goethe." The Mech, still recovering from its injury, produces a minigun from the arm opposite its damaged side. "Oh, come on! How can it even have this many weapons?" Gene uses one hand to overheat the weapon, causing it to jam as some of the bullets ignite. With his other, he fires at the robot's shoulder joint, welding it into one piece and partially immobilizing the Mech's arm.

"And you say I've misjudged you, eh? That you aren't focused on your studies, on improving your skills and increasing your repertoire? Seems unlikely, given that spellbook you carry like a security blanket, but I'll humor you. So what is your ambition? Friendship? Power? Justice? Or are you just muddling your way to the grave -- like too many people in this d*mn world?"

"Judging by the size of this Tank, I'd say it'd have at least over 50 weapons." says Samantha. A second later, the Irreg's remaining arm swoops towards her with a clenched fist. Samantha quickly dodges the attack.

"Make that over a Hundred weapons.. " she squeaks, as she quickly blasts the Irreg Tank with her Laser Canon.

EDIT: Repeated the word "Laser" in Laser Canon. ^^;

Champ:Samantha,thanks, Machaeus, Gene, shut up and pay attention to fighting

Samantha looked to Champ and smiled, "Thanks, Champ. ^^" she said. Her statement was quickly followed by more Shooting and Blasting at the Irreg with her Lasers.

[Machaeus]

"It ain't a security blanket, it's made of tempered titanium and therefore a backup weapon." Mach proves his point by mashing an irreg's head between its legs with said book.
"Nice, but still, shut up and FIGHT," Urufu snarls irately, driving his sword into one of the tank's treads and ripping it out with an oily explosion.

Ruri:Rikoutsukai, analyze*The sword flashes numbers and Ruri's eyes widen*what sort of maniac MADE this thing! It's got, like, every weapon except the Lambda driver
(Yes, I know, blatant FMP! reference)

[Hunter]

"That's great, kid," Gene says, "but can't you use your juju-jitsu to find a weakness on this thing, instead of telling us what we already know?" The Mech... Tank... whatever it is... launches another volley of small missiles. Gene rips off an irreg's arm (he shot himself up with super-strength too, remember?), heats it up, and flings it toward the missiles. The near-molten chunk of metal acts as a decoy, drawing the heat-seekers away from the party and causing them to blow up right in front of the mech. It's slightly damaged by this tactic, but not enough to be notable.

Ruri:I'm a soul reaper, not a ninja!

[Machaeus]

Machaeus sighs, focuses, and brings a small orb of flame into his palm. He slaps it into the ground (a la FMA) and a huge cylinder of flames blasts the ShellMech into the sky. It hits the ground with a loud CRASH, breaking off the head and leaving it basically upside down. "I'll settle for that," the mage gasps, and falls to one knee.
