Doc chuckles. "Heh, I assure you I am no Victor von Frankenstien; biologist and surgeon are worlds apart. No, it was my wanton disregard for keeping protected planets untouched by gathering specimens from them, poaching you might say, that kept me out of work with far more reputable compainies. But, getting back to Xacio," Doc switched the lights back off again and the image of a walled compound surrounded by jungle filled the centre of the room. "He was taken here, to a research facility on a remote planet far from prying eyes. By this time he had been removed from the stasis pod and was fully conscious, and the first of his many unique abilities had come to light." The image changed to some sort of medical diagnostic, with a strand of DNA and several diagrams representing what looked to be layers of skin. "When startled he would turn invisible. We were quick realise this fact, since being so young and in such a place he was often afraid. However, it was quickly established that this was a defence mechanism most likey left over from his species' elvolution. He eventually lost this most interesting talent as he grew older. There were other peculiaralities as well, in all my years I had never encountered a creature such as him. "All of his senses are hightened, particulary his sight and hearing. Xacio can see not only in the visible light spectrums but also in ultraviolet, he can hear in infrasonic tones down to 0.01Hz but is deaf to anything above 15kHz. He also posesses sub and epidermal armoured plating along his spine, the bone being so strong as to stop low calibre weapons. "Highly coagulative blood, fast healing, astonioshing reflexes... whoever his people were they must have been a race of warriors."

"A whole race where everyone is like Xacio?d**n. I don´t even want to imagine that.",Ash mutters, thinking about it.
"At least he lost his ability to make himself invisible. Even though he´s still dangerous as hell. But what else did you find out about him? ...To be honest,I´m aiming at his weak points."

"Ah, now there's a good question." says Doc to Ash, "He does have weaknesses, but I feel that I should first inform you, nay, warn you about his most astonishing ability first. "After a few weeks in our care, we became aware of the fact that for someone of his age he was extremely intelligent, abnormally so. He somehow already could speak Galactic Standard, most likely the stasis pod picked up rouge transmissions such to teach him while he slept, but the time with us he had also mastered nearly every major Galactic language. Even Hsskethan, which would take a normal person decades to master. We followed up these findings with a UMRI scans and intelligence tests, thats when we found where his true strength lay. "We humans, as you know, use only 10% of our brains total potential. Xacio it seems uses 12.9%. Now this may not sound like much, but this extra 3% enables him to efficiently use various psychic abilities, of which his greatest would be his control of machines. We originally held him in a standard security cell; he was quick to bypass that. I took us a week to find him again. For Xacio anything with an electric current running through is a tool, from entire powergrids to a mere wristhingych," Doc held up is right arm, pulling back his sleeve and showing a small burn scar on his wrist, "I got that when I tried to give him an injection, ruined a perfectly good watch too. Ah, but he wasn't a bad child, no, not back then. It was not later on that I found out what I had always suspected Cirtech of." "I 'eard they used to do all kinds of weird experiments, trying to make superweapons and such." says Gordon. Doc nods. "Somewhat true, yes. On the surface CI was a pharmaceutical company, but the vast majority of their profits came from illegal development of Genome Weaponry. Xacio's DNA structure was the Holy Grail to them, from it they could create a new line of gene therapy products designed to enhance a soldiers potential. But first they needed to a test to see what he could do."

Machaeus snorts at the mention of CI's ill-gotten gains, but continues listening almost more intently. "Lovecraftian horror," Urufu curses. "No wonder the guy was so messed up for that Khrohaltic Civil War or whatever. You really want to fight a guy like this, Ash? With his life, it seems better to call it a mercy-kill should you win."

Kei visibly stiffens at Urufu's comment, but the doctor continues his story. "True, the Khrohal situation had reached boiling point by this time, and the mental conditioning had taken hold. Xacio, I feel, knew what they...what we were trying to do all along. So, under heavy guard he was taken to Khrohal under the cover of Cirtech M.S.H. Unit* to test his potential." "And?" was the general reply. "He not only met but exceeded all possible expectations, even single handedly infiltrating and taking the fortress of Fyutre. Physically he's not much stronger than a normal person, but it's his ability to read the tide of battle allowed him to achieve such remarkable feats. Xacio prefers to avoid confrontations if possible, only striking out when necessary. He's also very particular about not causing collateral damage, but that of course makes him no less dangerous. After all, the virus that wiped out half the population of Khroahl and ended the war was his idea," Doc gave a sympathetic look to Kei. "I'm sorry if this upsets you dear." She continiued to pet Labrat as she shrugged. "Hey, the only reason I'm Khrohali is because my parents were. The only home I've ever know is here." "Yes, well, he managed to escape from us several times during his time on Khrohal; he has no problems with killing anyone in his way, even those on the same side. Which is why, after we returned, it was decided to destroy him."

"Whoawhoawhoa!Just a second.Have you just said that he can control any electronic device by just looking at them or touching them? You´re not serious! How could I beat him then? This armor is stuffed full off electronic parts!", Ash shouts after the Docs explanations. "There is no way to defeat him without the armors full functionality."

"You fought him before correct? How do you explain the fact that he didn't take control of your armor the first time? Perhaps he tried, perhaps not, but the point remains that in the interests of a fair fight he won't control your suit. It's his pride you see; he won't fight anyone he sees as weak, won't let harm come to them at all in fact. He seeks out the strongest opponents, the most difficult missions, anything to test his strength. This could be considered a weakness, you know."

"So make a name for yourself, and he'll come to you," Machaeus says. "I, uh, didn't mean to be rude, Kei," Urufu says when she stiffens. "It just seems the guy's had it rough. Not many can come from this kind of background and not have emotional - and psychological - scarring. That's all I was saying."

"Hm...Maybe he didn't know about the electronic components of this armor.Maybe its like you said.I don't know." Ash starts to walk up and down the room, looking at the 3D-image from the data-card. "Maybe I´ll just stay as far away from him as I can and use long-range weaponry. We´ll see about that."

"Don't worry about it." Kei says to Urufu, quietly adding "It's not like he doesn't deserve it." under her breath. Doc continiues with his story, respoding to Ash's comments. "Doubtful. He's trained in all aspects of warfare, from hand-to-hand to space combat. Besides, he is a very patient being, he'd wait for you to make the first move. I am not a tactician, but I'd say go with whatever your strength would be. Now where was I? "Well, the descision came that while his DNA and the technology that had been reverse-engineered from his ship were valuable, Xacio himself was not. He had already killed several dozen people over the years while escaping, destroyed millions of credits worth of machinery and had gone AWOL on Khrohal, the higher-ups thought him to be too much of a loose cannon. I, and several others, voiced our protests of course. He was only a child, and they wanted to incinerate him like common waste. They shut us out of the program, then shipped us out of the facility. Last I saw of Xacio he was in a holding cell, waiting for the end. "I can remember the look on his face. It was one of calm, controled emotion. There is no doubt he knew what was comming, but he wasn't frightened or paniced or even angry. Just neutral, as if he were waiting for a bus. Anyway, the shuttle I was on was the last one ever to leave the research base."

"So he killed everyone there, huh? No wonder, after all that.I think I would´ve probably done the same. Do you know What happened after that?Maybe where he went?, Ash asks Doc.
(Sorry that I dont post a little more. It´s after midnight and I worked the whole day... And in a few hours the horror begins again...)

"Few people are calm waiting for death. He has nerves of steel if he can do that." Machaeus sighs. "I'm beginning to wonder if you can pull it off. If anyone but the grim reaper could."

"Ah, but there's the rub." said Doc, "He was not waiting for his death, oh no, he had his escape figured out already. All he needed was a chance." He pushed a button on the remote again, bringing up another image. What at first glance appeared to be an aerial shot of a patch of open ground was actually a large shallow crater around a mile in diameter. In every direction around it the jungle had been flattened, some areas still burning. "The official explaination was that the facility's fusion reactor went critical, which is actually what happened. The cause for that was laid on poor maintainence and a faulty shipment of magnetoconstrictors, which is not true. Xacio's psychic ability has a limited direct range, but can he can let his influence flow through something until he gets what he wants. All he would have needed was one slip up; a computer left on, a powerpoint, radio, even a light bulb, just anything to give him access to the powergrid and he could have activated the security system, taking out his escort. Then it would have been a simple task to remove the saftey constraints from the reactor core's control rods with enough time for him to get his ship and leave before it went critical. This is only postulation on my part; there is no way of telling how he did it without actually asking him. "Well, I thank you for letting me tell my story. I suppose you must have questions? Well feel free to ask."

Ash snorts at Machaeus comment.
"He is a living being, right? If he can bleed...and I bet he can...then theres a way to beat him. Even though I have to admit that it wont be as easy as I thought.I know that hes good.Better than anyone I known in the EDF.But I think I can do it.It doesn't matter how the battle ends...he will regret that he ever met me."
"Hm.You don't know a way to find Xacio?Last known whereabouts?Anything that could help us find him?", Ash asks Doc.

Machaeus smiles darkly. "To figure out how to use such a power at such an age...and to wipe out so many with it..." "Magneto would be proud," Urufu smirks. "Who?" Doc asks. "Comic book villain from ages past, don't worry about it."
