"Well, the Mk IX was one of the last built in the Cluster's first series of battle robots," explains Gordon, "even that makes it about 500 years old. But the thing is back then they built them big and tough, an' the nines were about as big as you could get. They were used as MBDs (Main Battle Droid) during frontal assaults, but Cluster regulars hated fighting anywhere near the things. "Fact is they're, well, stupid I'd guess you'd say. About as likely to accidentally blow up their own forces as they were the enemy. So the took them out of frontline service and used them to subdue what they called 'underdeveloped worlds', eventually removing them from service. Their armour is thick enough for it to re-enter an atmosphere and crash into the surface, and they can traverse any terrain. Even swim I hear. I think they based it's design off the Ktughi Burrowing Beetle of Perseus Beta Minor." ((arrr, I'm late for work now!!!))

Gingerly Kei lets go of Ash and take a few tentative steps on her own. "Ok, I think I'm getting my land legs now." she says. She then bends downs to scoop up a handfull of sand, letting it run through her fingers. She seemed amazed by it. "So, this is dirt?" she asks.

Urufu is doing his best not to laugh. "Y-yeah, that's dirt." Kei catches on that he's laughing at her quite quickly. "S-sorry, I've never seen anyone fascinated by earth before!" "Then I'm glad you didn't see me. My first encounter with something that wasn't on fire was probably just as funny," Machaeus deadpans. He puts a hand on Kei's shoulder. "I know, I know, just ignore the peanut gallery." He removes his hand and takes a good look around. "Okay, so which one do we go in first? Any ideas, Gordon?"

Gordon shot a laser-pointer beam at a ditch which shone with heat-forged glass fragments, leading to a blackend hole in the side of a buried bunker. "At a guess, I'd say there." On closer inspection, it appears that whoever did this knew where to aim, as the hole itself was a 4-foot thick blast door that had been blown inwards by the force of the impact. Beyond was a corridor, sloping slightly downwards, that had not seen the light of day since the early 21st century. "I mean, we could go another way if you want," said Gordon, "I must say I'm not opposed to the idea of gettin back into the ship and heading somewhere a lot nicer..."

"Yeah, how are the Bahamas this time of year?" Urufu wonders sarcastically. "We're here for a reason, ya know..."

"Heh.I told you to just drop me here. But nobody wanted to listen. Co-hung, co-caught.", Ash says sarcastically.
He walks up to the blast door, inspecting it closer.
"I wonder what kind of weapon could have done this."
After a thoughtful moment,he climbs through the hole in the blast door, into the corridor.

Kei climbs in after him, pitching her ears and sniffing the air. "Man, I've seen so many lame horror films that have scenes just like this..." They descend a long flight of stairs, eventually they came to a room. The little sunlight that came through the blasted door behind them could not illuminate the space. Kei continued to sniff the air. "Don't suppose anyone's got a light?" she said.

"Not me.Even though I think I should have one."
He pulls his sword from his back.It unfolds and as the green edge appears,it lights up the room a bit.
"This is the best I can do.Not much, but better than nothing."

From what little illumination is provided, the room appears to be long but only slightly wider than the passage through which they'd came. There are four heavy steel doors leading off from the room; they appear to be welded shut. Between the doors, and runing the length of the room, are large glass windows, barred from both the inside and out. At the end of the room, a fifth, larger door appears to have been opened recently. On the door closest to them there is a sign written in Cyrillic characters: ОПАСНОСТЬ: БИОЛОГИЧЕСКАЯ ОПАСНОСТЬ ЖИВИТЕ ХРАНЕНИЕ ЖИВОТНЫХ НИКАКОЙ НЕПРАВОМОЧНЫЙ ВХОД"Ok," says Kei, "I can't read that but I know what that symbol means."

"Biohazard," Urufu nods. "In other words, 'I am the door of certain, agonizing death. Avoid me like the plague or perish in utter misery'. Good God, it's a Gygaxian dungeon with warning labels." "And I'm sure Kei knows PERFECTLY well what that means, as does Gordon, and they can explain it to me," Machaeus snorts. "You don't know Gary Gygax? Creator of Dungeons & Dragons?! Dude, I wrote a REPORT on him in high school!" "Ah, yes, I remember your little monstrosity. Why in the Nine H3lls did you read all twenty-five pages?" "Vengeance on the b@st@rd who said it was impossible," the werewolf grins evilly, rubbing his hands together.

Kei and Gordon look at each other. "<Do you have any idea what the hell those two are talking about?>" Kei says in Galactic Standard Dialect. "<Must be a human thing.>" replies Gordon. Kei taps the metal sign, the sound echoes around the dark hallway. "Well I sure can't read that, the only Earth language I know is English. Besides, where we want to go is down the end door," she took a few steps and looked through the barred window, "these doors were never ment to be reopened, and for a good reason I suspect."

"They tried to lock all of this stuff away. But that doesn't solve the problem. Its the same with all weapons. With time they'll be forgotten.Even though they're still a threat."
Ash walks slowly toward the door at the end of the floor inspecting the window as he passes by.
"Last chance for you guys to turn around. Its getting serious now.Well.Really serious."

"Well, thats my cue," says Gordon, "I'd like very much to leave right now, so if one of you could be so kind as to-" Kei took the AI in her hand and held him up to eye level. "Oh no, you're going where I go," she said, "and I've come too far not to turn around now." Wafting the still, stagnant air to her nose she inhales a long breath. She closes her eyes as she exhales. "He's here." she says. The group proceeds into the next chamber. It's appears to be some sort of underground storage facility, comfortably large enough to hold a game of football and still have room for grandstands. In the far corner is a vehicle elevator, it's shaft slanted at a 45o angle and leading off to most likely a garage near the surface. There appears to be nothing of value left; on the elevator is a derelict truck, its tires flat and fused with the metal floor. A pair of Mil Mi-24 attack helicopters sit side by side in the middle of the room, rotors weighted to the ground and fuselages covered by sheets of protective canvas. Apart from their tires, which like the truck's are melted, the Hinds appear in remarkably good condition. The only other thing in the room is a large pile of garbage adjacent to a massive door. There is no sign of Xacio.

"Hm.Guess we have to go a little deeper into this d**n facility."
Ash walks over to the elevator and looks up the shaft.
"Looks like this leads back to the surface.Well.Looks like we don't have much options."
He walks toward the big door, but stops in front of the pile of garbage and pokes it a few times with the foot.He shrugs with his shoulders, wondering why all the garbage is there,or how it got there.
Why do you even care?Concentration.Concentration!
