Name: Nebula Systems Advanced Navigational A.I. Program (ANAP) -C.1991 version 1.8, aka Gordon.
Age: Appears as mid to late 40s male human.
Species: Semi-Symbyotic A.I. Program
Chronological Age: Unknown. The first of the ANAP-C.1991 ver.1.8s were programed 75 years ago, last batch was created 67 years ago.
Strength: Variable; depends on what he's hooked up to.
Abilities/Strengths: As a semi-symbyotic A.I. he can link with whatever object he was programed to, in this case spacecraft. Gordon also possess the navigation data for every known object in the galaxy, and a few intergalactic ones too. Has an IQ of 4000, which, as he claims "is the same as 4000 parking meters...or 8000 PE teachers."
Weaknessess: Yeah, whats writen above is about it. He doesen't even have arms or legs. Or a body. When separated from a vessel he needs to be carried around in his "Input Unit", which looks like a TV remote. (I have a bad feeling that Urufu is going to lose him down the back of the couch...) Like all A.I.s, he's suseptable to viruses, hacking and EM fields. Did I mention he suffers from slight separation anxiety?
Personality: A.I.s have a funny way of developing their own personalities over time, so no two of the same make are ever alike. They often take after their owners, and like sentients their views and opinions are shaped by what they experience. In Gordon's case this was compounded by the fact he spent about 10 years on his own which made him a little...odd. He doesn't always obey direct orders, sulks when he doesn't get his way, is prone to speaking his mind (can give him the appearance of being tactless or rude even), and can often go into pointless rambling even when (or perhaps especially when) left alone. He also speaks with an accent that wasn't part of his original programing, considering he wasn't designed on Earth, let alone England. He also has what can be only be described as 'brain melts', wherein despite the fact he has an IQ of 4000 he forgets key information, is innatentive, can be easily outsmarted and often gives wrong answers. For example, despite the fact he can tell you, to within 0.01x10-189% chance of error, the exact location of any known object in the galaxy, he can't be sure if starboard means the right hand side and port the left, or if it's the other way around.
Appearance: Mid to late 40s, balding, with a Northern English accent and expressions. Occasionaly uses C0ckney rhyming slang.
(Whoever guesses which fictional TV character I based Gordon off gets a cookie.)
