I'm waiting for First Lieuteneral "TRS" to return, so that we can get back into the main game. Alas, he seems to have forgotten this board entirely: his last login was 2 months ago. In the meantime, my character is looking for a new apartment, as VERY far away from Tremorton (and the robot riots therein) as possible.
P.S.: I read through the "GRU #3" thread, and I'd like to remind you that my character and I are NOT the same person. I don't give a steely d**n about Mack's manwitch-craft, though your extended D'n'D crossover bugs me to no end. Gene, on the other hand, has every reason to worry. As a natural scientist, he's leery of any alleged "scientific" mastery of the supernatural. He's not likely to trust so-called magi. Whatever's out there, he reasons, it can't be controlled. Anyone who claims otherwise is a fool or a liar.
P.P.S.: I'd like to remind you that this game is set in the 23rd century. Your continued references to 20th century pop culture are REALLY bad form, more befitting the movie "Spaceballs" than any serious storytelling. Kthxbai!

STOP BEING PICKY!!!!
most of our charachters lived in the 20th/21st centuries, so they would reference that culture. Besides, we aren't doing anything with these stories, we're not publishing them, so who cares about form. Also, Zero is taking a break, trust me, he hasn't forgotten TRS.

First off, I'm glad you're not evangelicizing (sp?), just your character (and it seems he has a good enough reason to be suspicious. He's only partly correct - some magic comes directly at the behest of supernatural beings {not neccessarily malevolent, however! }. Second, it's MACH. Not MACK. I've said that before, haven't I? Anywho. Third, I'm actually okay with your character being a bit of a stick in the mud - character tension, as long as it doesn't steal from the story too much, is perfectly fine. Moderation, that's all. I think we made some good tension in chapter 5. Fourth, what makes you think D&D will have died out in 300 years? Edition 3.5 is going strong - they're pumping out a new book almost every month recently, and they are KICK-AZZ quality (that may be my D&D Hardcore Fan talking, but hey, what ya gonna do?). Fifth, I've never seen Spaceballs (Or Matrix - I know, I suck), but it sounds right up my alley. However, maybeso you could tell me what references I made (besides D&D and Wizards of the Coast related). And finally, Mach was born 500 or so years ago (fiendish blood gave him some time resilience, and He!! has NO time flow), so of course he would reference things he's seen when he escaped from his great-great-grandfather's watchful eye (which was often - he LOVED p!ss!ng the guy off. Read the Tremorton Board's "Battle @ the Mall" for proof of this). Thanks for listening, and sorry for dragging this out. (Whew!)
