Lightning weakly limps though the door of the lab. "Sorry it took...me a while..." she said in a weak, low tone of voice. "I had to...recover what little...energy it requires...just to get here..." She looks down at her damaged lower leg, seeing that some of the red paint, orange flames, and crome lighting blolts had peeled off. She notices fluid leeking from it. Its rocket fuel from her jets.

Urufu pushes the wounded robot over and onto another couch. "Rest. You need it. Why aren't you still plugged in?"
Machaeus walks in at this point, his eyes red (glowing, not vein-filled), and scowls at WL. "Do I need to play the f*****g medic for everyone?" he mutters, then lays a golden-glowing hand on her wound. It heals before her eyes, just as the wound appears in the same shape on Machaeus' leg. At the startled cries of the women, he shakes his head. "My demon blood is acting up, which means I heal faster. Besides, I can heal at all. YOU don't have that luxury, Lightning." He then sits down on the floor, rips up part of his robe, and wraps it above the wound. "Stop the blood loss, prop it up to lessen the blood getting to it, and I should be fine. Now don't bother me again." He lays down on the floor, his leg propped up on a footstool, his features decidedly more sinister.
"Before you drift off," Urufu asks, "Is that why your eyes are glowing?"
"Yes. Now let me sleep." His eyes drift shut and he is snoring lightly in a minute.
"He's dangerously low on mana," Urufu says. "Without that magic energy, he has less willpower. With less willpower, he gains more demon qualities. The more that happens, the less he is Machaeus. I suggest we let him sleep. And like I said, Lightning, you need to recharge. I don't have to carry you back, do I?"

"The more I hang around you guys, the weirder you seem to become," Jessie exclaims. "Urufu, you sure WL and Machaeus will be alright?"

"Machaeus needs to recharge his mana, or spell energy, and that takes about 8 hours of rest. With no mana, he falls unconscious, or worse - his demon blood begins acting up. He normally keeps it under control easily, and has to exert will to call it up if he feels like it. But, like I said, low mana means low will, and low control of his less favorable traits.
"As for Lightning, she walked in here with barely a 1% charge. Stupid move, if you ask me. I dunno much about electronics, but what I do know is that's liable to be killer on her battery. I've done that with a laptop and it left ugly results - I ended up having to buy a whole new one. Not that the battery wasn't wonky before, but..."

"Eck. I guess rest is best for both of them, and Jackie too." She glanced at Jackie, who was still asleep. "I don't know how long Jacks needs to 'recharge'. Since she's half-human, she probaly just needs some sleep."

Urufu hooks Lightning back up to the charger, then digs into his pocket. "I think I have something of Mach's that might help him and your cousin," he says, pulling out a key. "This is the spare key to his room - I keep an energy pill stash in there. I had to experiment with them for hours and days to get the recipe perfected. Give Jackie two and Machaeus three, and they ought to be good. I just hope they haven't expired or something."

"Okay, got it." Jessie takes the keys and starts to leave. Then she stops.
"Wait, how exactly do these pills work? I mean, can't you just give them the same ammount?"

"I didn't hear that, sorry," Urufu says, "But wouldn't that make you cough up more blood, which we don't need?
"And the pills restore so much energy - say, one pill restores 10 units, about the average amount for someone who's fully rested, had a great breakfast, and exercizes regularly. You have more energy due to a highly active lifestyle, and Machaeus uses energy as mana. So he needs about three pills, but it would take twelve fully revitalize him. It might even take more for Jackie, if I underestimated her."

"Nah, I think two will be enough. One for human energy, one for robot energy, I guess." Jessie turns to Urufu. "Anything else you need me to get while I'm gone?"

"I was gonna get them, I know right where they are," he replies. "And if anyone makes a 'senzu bean' comment, there's going to be pain, because I'm sick of Mach making that joke."
(I actually just realized that...there's dissimilarities, but someone might make the connection.)
He then dashes off to Mach's room, returning a minute later with five blue pills and five red ones. He's also wearing shades. "Choose one, Neo - one is a sugar pill, the other is the energy pill. But first, ask your doctor if either is right for you." He's grinning, which leads you to believe that he's trying to be funny.

"The Matrix. Very funny," Jessie says sarcastically, even though she giggled a bit. "What, is Jackie going to wake up saying 'I should have taken the sugar pill'?"
"Anyway, back to buisness. Let's go with two energy. The last time Jackie ate sugar straight from the packet, at first she bounced all over the place and then got sick. We don't want that, do we?"

"Red is energy, no joke," Urufu says, holding the hand out. "The blue one - it's Machaeus' creation. And I have no clue what it really does. I'll ask him when he wakes up."
"It's an intellect booster, but it's temporary and has a very negative side effect of making one sluggish and lazy," Machaeus says. "Both effects last two hours. And are yours safe?"
"YES, I tested them several times. On myself. If you're not willing to buy lab rats for your experiments, I have to make do," Urufu adds at Mach's surprised look. He hands them the appropriate pill number and looks at the blue ones for a second. "So, what, does Shikamaru have this instead of blood?"
"Stop with the anime references," Machaeus snaps.

"Yeah, my cousin could use the red. Hyper's better than no energy at all." Jessie taps her cousin on the shoulder, which wakes her up.
"...What?"
"Here, take these," Jessie whispers, handing Jackie two of the red pills. She swallows the pills in one gulp - no water needed.
"Wow, feels like I just ate 20 sugar packets in a row." A little later, she's bouncing off the walls!

"Crap," Urufu mutters as he dodges Jackie. "Machaeus, don't you have a binding spell?"
"Not quite, but I can contain her in my shield. The problem is that I may end up wounded by her insane leaping everywhere."
"Do it, you can transfer the wounds to me."
Just as Jackie passes Machaeus next, he shouts, "BLACK AURA!" An opaque, jet-black half-orb surrounds them, and a loud BONK is heard as she collides with the barrier. "You willing to calm down now?"
